By the time you get this it will be First Friday in Historic Downtown Bastrop, August 5 will be over. Judy Hawes was be at my studio/gallery with new jewelry and some new paintings. I also put up some paintings that you may not have seen when we came to New Mexico. I hope you can visit the studio and the other galleries. First Friday is a great time to meet the artists and see the new work. You can even start or add to your art collection. ! Oh, it is Homecoming in Bastrop as well this weekend. You can see old friends, go to the rodeo and much more.
My seventh annual show in Magdalena during Old Timers was great. It was wonderful to see all my friends and meet new ones. Thank you so much to all who attended and bought some of my paintings. Usually the paintings I like the most are the ones that sell, or the ones Gene likes. :) It seems he never gets to have the painting of his choice. My paintings are still at Peppers Art Gallery there, so stop in and see them in person.
We are enjoying the cool weather in New Mexico. I have been painting and preparing to enter a juried show here in Angel Fire presented by the Moreno Valley Arts Council. The show, Contact, will be September 10 - 12, with a reception on September 11, 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Lodge at Angel Fire Resort. I’m hoping my entries will be accepted.
I also met up with Joan Bohls, artist from Bastrop, here and we have been painting out in the nice cool air. It is always fun and inspiring to paint with another artist. It is interesting to see the different interpretations of the same scene.
I will be giving a demo in Marble Falls, Texas,Thursday, November 18, 2010, 9:30 a.m. at the Highland Arts Guild and Gallery in Marble Falls, Texas. It will be open to the public if you care to come. My Demo will cover Finding the Light in Landscapes in Pastel. Hope to see you there! There will be a follow up workshop in January at the same location.
I hope to see you somewhere soon. Be sure and check out my new work on my website or blog. Please comment on my blog or send me an e-mail. I’m not sure if I like painting or gabbing more. I love hearing from you and talking about art, life or whatever.
