It is First Friday time again.  On July 2 my studio will be open from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm. to preview my new paintings I will be taking to New Mexico for my show there.  I have several new pieces including some hot air balloons and a blue window with geraniums.  (Preview on my website http://www.jocastilloart.com)  I do like adobe walls and red geraniums.  I always enjoy painting red as you know.  There will be some wine and refreshments.

The artists across the street in the Mercantile will be open.  Those include Lea Cundy and her wildflower pottery and son, Mark, with his glass jewelry.  There are about 13 artists in that building, now.  The Bastrop Fine Arts Guild will be featuring Karol Rice’s photos in red, white and blue.  You can plan to see the art, eat dinner and listen to live music at Gracie’s and the Lumberyard after the art receptions.

I am having fun and settling into my new gallery space. After all these years of retirement it is a little like going to work, though!
I am there Tuesday - Friday from 12 noon to 5:00 p.m. and on Monday and Saturday by appointment or by chance.  I am painting, giving classes and visiting with other artists and art enthusiasts.

Try to  get by my studio to see all the artwork in person.  It looks so much better!  I added a Google calendar to my blog and website.
You can check dates of  “art happenings” there.

I look forward to seeing you Friday or whenever you make it to Bastrop. If you are coming by, please send me an e-mail or call.  We travel quite a bit so Judy Hawes will be there when I'm not in.

The show in New Mexico is July 9,10 and 11 in Magdalena, New Mexico.
It is during the Old Timers Reunion.  Check my website above for details and times. We used to go to  the reunion  to see which “old timers” were there, now, we are the “old timers”.  My show is always at Peppers Art Gallery.  The gallery is for sale due to Marky’s health problems.  It is a perfect place if you like small town living. Come check it out!

I will do a demo and workshop in Marble Falls, Texas, in the fall, details later.  Hope to see you at my studio or one of these events.

Thanks,
Jo

P.S.  Feel free to forward this to someone you think might be interested in seeing my work.  Ask them to sign up for my newsletter.
