Jo Castillo Art Studio & Gallery - 1009 Main Street, Bastrop, Texas 78602
The Ribbon Cutting for my new studio/gallery went so well. I want to thank those of you that have stopped by to visit and came to the reception. I have more paintings up and will have several more up for this Friday, May 7. The studio will be open and have refreshments for:
First Friday Bastrop
Friday, May 7, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
1009 Main Street, Bastrop, Texas
Free, open to the public.
My First Friday open house will coincide with the Bastrop Fine Arts Guild Featured Artist Reception, now to be a First Friday event. The Featured Artists are the Photography Group from Bastrop High School. Their work is amazing, so come by and meet these young artists and see their unique and colorful work. Several other art venues, restaurants and businesses will be open as well.
I painted some young dancers in their colorful Mexican costumes which will be on display for the first time. It fits in for Cinco de Mayo, too. It is painted in pastels on Pastelbord. 16 x 20 inches, framed against the museum glass in a plein air frame. See it on the front page of my website at
www.jocastilloart.com The color of the costumes is vibrant in pastels. I have a new oil painting of flowers and a pastel landscape. Wow, I have been busy.
Judy Hawes' jewelry is fascinating. One piece is crocheted silver with black onyx and crystals. There are paintings, prints and cards by Regina Burchett, my pastel painting buddy. See Regina's work at
www.fallshadows.com
You can see my new work on my blog and website listed above. Try to get by my studio to see all the artwork in person. It looks so much better!
Hope to see you Friday or whenever you make it to Bastrop. If you are coming by, please send me an e-mail or call. We travel quite a bit. Judy Hawes will be there when I'm not in.
Thanks,
Jo
P.S. Feel free to forward this to someone you think might be interested in seeing my work.
