Dear Friend,

   Most Awaiting time has come now. Finally, after analysis of Computer Awareness Survey, Computer Awareness Workshop has scheduled on 16th & 17th Jan in Training lab of Central Library. This workshop is in designed in two phase. Details are mentioned as shown below.

This workshop is intended to get the hands-on experience of computer usage and its application in real world life according to their requirements and usage.  This workshop will covered in two phase. First phase (Level-1: Basic Learner) is designed for administrator staffs who are not familiar with computer usage and its application (Students can also attend). And the second phase (Level-2: Advance Learner) is problem oriented session, designed for students who wants to learn some more about windows, internet security, mobile security and its usage in real life. The contents are shown below-

Level-1

1. What is Computer?

2. Basic component of Computer

3. Software & Hardware

4. How to use Computer

5. Windows Operating System

6. Internet and its usage

7. MS Office

Level-2

Section-1: Windows Operating System

  • ü What is Operating System
  • ü  Make boot-able DVD/ pen-drive to install OS
  • ü  Install and Format OS
  • ü  Create Multiple Partitions
  • ü  Creating a System Image or Back up
  • ü  Installation of software/antivirus
  • ü  Folder hide and password
  • ü  Securing computer from virus attack

Section -2: Microsoft Office & Open Source Office

Section-3: Internets & Cyber Security tips

Section-4: Mobile Security tips

 

 Resource Person-

1.      Gaurav Kumar, PhD, Junior Research Fellow, Councilor and Convener of School of Computer & Systems Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University.

2.      Amit Singh, PhD, Junior Research Fellow, School of Computer & Systems Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University.

10 – 11:30 AM: Presentation

11:30-1 PM: Hands On Training

2 – 3:30 AM: Presentation

3:30-5 PM: Hands On Training

10 – 1 PM: Presentation

2-5 PM: Hands On Training
