Dear All,
Posting this mail for your kind consideration on behalf of the Disabled Students Association (DSA, JNU) for the reach of this mail to the intended community or people.
Thank You,
Amar

Dear all,
Greetings from Disabled Students Association (DSA); as you all must be aware, the classes for new batches of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of JNU for 2022-2023 are beginning next week. And many students with disabilities will be looking for accessible study material for their coursework and to effectively participate in everyday classroom discussions. In this regard, Disabled Students Association (DSA) is facilitating our central libraries' effort to make the study material available in an accessible format.

Disabled Students Association (DSA), JNU works to make higher education campuses inclusive and accessible to students with disability. In our bid to reach the goals of an inclusive and accessible campus, we are taking this initiative to facilitate an inclusive learning environment. We have observed that students with disability, specifically those with visual impairment, face difficulties accessing study material in an accessible format. In this regard, we are making an effort to facilitate our Central library's effort to create and make available accessible study material for students with disability. To make the study material, readings, books, and articles accessible in format, our central library needs the syllabus for the courses of different programs such as Master's, Bachelors and Doctoral with pertinent details of references. The library is making an effort to create a centralised database and make it available online to facilitate students with disabilities access to study material.
In this regard, we are again circulating this google form to collect the documents of the syllabus so that the library can start working on making the study material available in an accessible format, considering reaching out to more and more students (both disabled students and our allies non-disabled students) to help in this regard. Therefore, please provide the syllabus you have to facilitate this endeavour in the attached google form.

Please forward this mail content to different WhatsApp groups on the JNU campus, Google groups of various centres/schools, or any other social media handles or platforms where we can reach out to a large number of students on our campus.
We look forward to your kind cooperation.

Please Note: Just to let you know, we have already received the syllabus for the centres, which were available in the public domain for the ease of students, such as CPS/SSS in JNU and from a few faculties on the campus. However, we are still trying to reach out to students from other centres and schools, specifically undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Our library has begun working on the syllabus made available from a few centres but requires all the other centre's syllabi to be provided to them to facilitate this endeavour. Therefore, please share this request for syllabus collection widely.

Thank you
Disabled Students Association, JNU
