Dear All,

I must congratulate Navneetji, for arranging such an excellent seminar.  It has amply demonstrated   her organizational skills and her widespread contacts in the PH community as well as larger section of the society.  I was equally impressed by the number of   non -handicapped volunteers present on the day.  This shows that a large number of people are now showing concern about our affairs.

Meanwhile, we have placed a charter of demands to EOO.  This was from the point of view of employees only.  Let the students come out with their charter of demands also, because they know their problems better than us.  That can be presented to the chief advisor on the occasion of World disability day.

Now we need to fight together so our demands are met.

                       To,

Professor Sonajaria  Minz

Chief Advisor, Equal Opportunity Office

JNU   New Delhi-67                                                                                                8/11/2012

Subject:  Immediate Charter of demands  of  JNUDPA

                                                        regarding teachers and staffs

Dear   Madam,

The J.N.U Disabled persons’ association takes this opportunity to present their ( teachers and staff component)  immediate    charter  of  demands

(1)                    JNUDPA prays that the University officially recognizes the JNUDPA. This means the circulars that go to SC/ST  association , should also come to  JNUDPA.

(2)                   JNUDPA prays that the equal opportunity office forwards an application to  State Bank of India  from JNUDPA to  open  a bank  account  in name of  JNUDPA.

(3)                   The 3% reservation for physically challenged in campus housing remains only in paper.  We pray that  “The equal opportunity office”  writes to  the Ministry of  Social  Justice  and the Ministry of urban  affairs  to issue  a specific government circular  regarding  this  , so that this can be implemented in  reality.

(4)                   The  JNUDPA requests to  Equal Opportunity Office  to write to Ministry of  surface transport , Delhi  Government   and DTC,  to extend the validity of  Bus passes issued to physically challenged,   valid for  Green Buses only  to Red Buses (AC buses) also.

(5)                    The   JNUDPA  also  prays  for  regularization of  job  of  Sri  Shishu Pal ,                             who  is working  on  ad-hoc  basis

(6)                   JNUDPA   prays that wheel-chairs,( preferably mechanized )should  be kept in every school.

At the end, JNUDPA prays that  some office space be given to  JNUDPA ( old JNUTA office in the  Aravalli  Guest  house?) and office furniture be issued.

Thanking you,

Yours  sincerely

Shree   Nand  Kishore                                                                                   Dr.  S.  S.  Maitra
