FDZone Delhi in collaboration with India Habitat Centre invites you to a screening of films produced by Films Division on Thurdsay, October 3, 2012 at 7 pm in Casuarina Hall, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi
The screening will be the launch of the Delhi Chapter of Films
Division's FDZone Society. FDZone Delhi will showcase works of moving
image, from different genres and time period. With this launch, we hope
to add to the multiple conversations around film-making practices.
These short films can be seen from various perspectives - as cultural
artefacts; as historical documents; as State propaganda and its
subversion; as an account of the birth of a nation and of
"nation-building”. These films reveal the sobriety and playfulness of
new aesthetic voices, which engage with the State and yet gently
question it. They are markers, in some ways, of “momentous events” of
post-Independent India.
