What will the camp be like?
Global Teen Camp is taking place in December 2013 following the success of the first camp!
The camp will be filled with plenty of activities and interactive sessions that inspire and lift the
attendees such that Swamiji's teachings come alive and the teenagers will leave the camp inspired
and unmistakably changed.
At the camp, teenagers will be able to spend a week with teenagers from across the world, from
Australia to Kenya, Philippines to USA. That same feeling of being with like-minded young people that
we feel at national camps will be felt on a global level and teenagers will discover that our Chinmaya
Mission family doesn’t stop at our border but really does traverse the world. One thing’s for sure,
those who do come will have a week they will never forget.
Timetable
A typical day will be fun, full of activities interspersed with inspiring talks!
Swamiji will conduct 3 lectures through the day and exciting activities will be organised each
afternoon. After dinner there will be evening entertainment and cultural programmes.
The days are full but there is time for rest so that attendees can maximise the experience and there is
a lot of time, informal and in classes, to spend with Swamiji and the assistant Acharyas.
The topic
The subject of the camp is 24/7 Anytime, Anyplace. The camp will show us how we have access to
Gurus in different forms 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Swamiji will teach us how we can learn from
everything around us, from nature, to animals, to our friends and teachers. There will be cultural
programs in the evening, and the week will be full of learning, activities and adventure!
The venue
Accommodation: The camp will be hosted at Chinmaya International Residential School. Information
The school provides accommodation for children throughout the year and is fully equipped for their
needs. Teenagers will stay in same-sex dorm rooms, with approximately 4-6 other teenagers, with
sevaks close by. We will try and keep groups of friends together wherever we can!
Food: The food will not be boring boarding school food! It will be fully vegetarian and will allow
the teenagers to experience a range of cuisine from across India as well as pizza and pasta in good
measure. We will try and accommodate food allergies where possible.
Medical: Along with the Acharyas, there will be a number of experienced sevaks and mothers on site
throughout the camp. In addition, there are medical facilities available at the school, and we will have
a doctor present at the school throughout the camp. However, we do ask that you book your own
travel and health insurance. Please also ensure the attendee gets all necessary vaccinations and starts
a course of malaria tablets as and when recommended by your doctor.

Getting there
Please liaise with country co-ordinators about when the rest of the group is travelling. You
should arrange your international flight to India through your usual travel agent, though the
majority of attendees will likely fly into Mumbai, Delhi or Bangalore. We would recommend using
www.cleartrip.com to then book your internal flight to Coimbatore (there are several low cost
operators that operate several flights a day into Coimbatore such as Jet lite and www.cleartrip.com is
a good website that compares fares and times and allows you to book online).
You should arrange your flight such that you land in Coimbatore on the morning or afternoon of 18th
or early morning of the 19th
The camp will formally commence at 11am sharp on 19th December so you should plan to arrive at
Coimbatore airport by 8am at the latest with a view to arriving at the school by 9am at the latest.
The school is 45-60 minutes from Coimbatore airport and is well known by local taxi drivers.
The address is Chinmaya International Residential School, Nallurvayal Post, Siruvani Main Road,
Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu
Please note that Coimbatore also receives international flights from Singapore and certain cities in the
Middle East.
Please also ensure you apply for a visa if need be.
December and book your return flight on the evening of 24th
