The inability to find street parking or a seat on the train can only mean one thing: it’s fall, and that can only mean the start of another Softball season! Glory is up for grabs once again as co-ed teams battle for softball supremacy at Penn Park.

The Nodes of Ranvier, the only brain-specific team in the world, embarks on its 4th season of dominance and is openly recruiting.

We must evaluate if there in enough interest and players to form a team again. There are minimum player quotas each game. There is a $5 registration fee per player. Teams need to be registered starting 9/20. There will be a captain’s meeting on 9/25 where I will have a better idea of the schedule. Past and new players, please email me if you are interested in playing. All skill levels are welcome, including beginners. If you show up to a game, you will play. None of that, “you get benched because the game is close and we want to win business.” The focus is on skill and team building and of course winning BIG.

Please contact me if you are interested in playing or have any questions. Also, I am looking to pass on the reigns of the team to another person to lead. After a year and half, I am ready to just be a player.  Anyone on Silver 9? Rhoads 2? Neurology? Neurosurgery residents? Preferably two people to lead as not everyone can make every game.

Finally, if anyone knows about team sponsorships please get in touch with me. I had an idea that for every homerun hit by a Nodes player or win, someone or some entity would donate to a Neuro/CNS-based charity of their choosing.

Kind Regards,
