Dear All,
1)Though the monsoon is late I hope and pray that it will arrive.
As it has happened in the past, with the monsoon come disasters. It is important that we all be prepared for any disaster by charging our handies, keeping spare battries ready, keep your handy "on" and be ready to respond at short notice to meet any requirement in the event disaster does strike.
2) Following the monsoon will come the Ganpati Visarjan for which we all help provide support. This year too we intend to do that. So all those who wish to participate should give two photographs (with your name and callsign written on the reverse) to OM Sanat Hegde (VU2SQW) at the earliest.
3) There will be the Scouts Jamboree and now that many of you have handies we could have more number of stations on the air. So if you desire to join in for the Jamboree on the air please let me know.
4) We are planniing to go on a Field Trip to Mahabaleshwer from 2nd October 2014 to 6th October 2014. It is a long holiday weekend so all of you can surely participate. 2nd Oct is Gandhi Jayanti a mandatory all India Holiday. 3rd October is Dassara also a certain Holiday.4th Oct is a Saturday a half day (or take a casual leave). 5th Oct is a Sunday (so no comments) and 6th Oct is Bakri Id.
An ideal holiday weekend so damn it don't waste it. Get on the air.
The place where we are going to stay is a HAM friend's bunglow so no damages to your pocket by way of staying expense. A considerable saving for a holiday week end where hotels jack up their rates. (All that you will spend is by way of travel and food). The whole bunglow is at our disposable to set up our station. To tie up our dipoles there is a lot of land around and plenty of trees. We plan to carry HF, VHF and UHF equipment so even the most raw ham could be on the air and master the fine art of communicating on the band.
So now why are you hesitating?
To book your slot please send me two of your photographs with your name and callsign written on the reverse of it and money for a draft for making an application for "Temporary Change of Location" of your station and a Xerox copy of your valid license. HURRY HURRY.
5) We plan to go on a Radio Trekking Expidition to Kalsubai Peak in December or January. This peak is the highest peak in Maharashtra at 6500 feet above MSL. From this peak we plan to establish VHF/UHF contact to various locations in Maharashtra and possibly Gujrat too. (Please do remember the climb is tough so think about it. Like me If you cannot climb you could opertae from a ground level or easily reachable station). Interested? Please send me an e-mail.
Expect to hear from many many of you all.
