CQ Mumbai Amateur Radio Convention – 2019
After a break in 2018, the CQ Mumbai Amateur Radio Convention returns in 2019 on Sunday, the 3rd of March. This year’s programme will be longer than past editions – starting at 10 am and finishing by 5 pm – and will provide ample time to socialize, listen to a variety of speakers on a range of interesting topics, enjoy a sumptuous lunch and even share a few light-hearted moments over tea!
Thanks to Kaushik VU2KTW, we have a centrally located QTH in association with PVP S.N.D.T. Women’s University for the event. The address is Mini Auditorium, J.H. Centre, S.N.D.T. Women’s University, Juhu Road, Santa Cruz (West), Mumbai – 400 049.
The tentative programme schedule is as follows:
10.00 – 10:30 Meet & greet
10:30 – 10:40 Welcome address
10:45 – 12:15 Technical forum (homebrewing, latest developments, etc.)
12:15 – 13:30 Lunch
13:30 – 15:15 Operating forum (contesting /dxing, VHF & above, etc.)
15:15 – 15:45 Tea
15:45 – 16:45 Open forum for clubs
16:45 – 17:00 Special announcements and Closing remarks.
We are planning activities for increased interaction among attendees and also talking to prospective vendors who would like to showcase items for sale. The above schedule is currently flexible and would be firmed up as our speakers confirm their topics and travel plans. We do have guest speakers this time around! We will publish the final schedule by the 23rd of February.
Registrations:
Considering the centrality of the venue and costs of catering, we have currently set the registration amount at Rs. 650
How to Register:
The last date for registering is February 21st. No spot registrations please as last minute additions make the caterers unhappy!
We welcome sponsors who can help reduce the registration cost further or assist in any other way.
The event is open for anyone interested in ham radio and we take this opportunity to also invite all clubs in Mumbai to use this forum to showcase their activities.
Any suggestions or inputs on program flow, please feel free to get in touch with any of us or mail to j4jatin at gmail.com
