Today 08 May 14 afternoon there was a call from Mantralaya new administrative building Commissioner’s Office - Mumbai Police (Wireless) to discuss upon Amateur Radio Support during any emergency.
 
Accordingly, alongwith myself, the following Hams attended the meeting at 1600hrs:
 
1.      VU2LNZ  Girish
2.      VU2HIT   Huzefa
3.      VU2ZRS  Zyros
4.      VU3BMW Mayur
 
The Meeting was chaired by DCP (Wireless) and introduced to their system of wireless networking in Maharashtra by HF, VHF, UHF Satellite & truncking method of communication.  Though theirs is 24x7 powerful system they also require parallel support from HAMs in case of any emergency in the state.
 
They are quite well aware of Hams capability in communication during any disaster from the time of Latur Earthquake.
 
Now to come to the point of meeting:
 
Mumbai Police requires Ham Radio Support from all districts of Maharashtra using HF network during any emergency in the state.
 
The support will be not on mobility during emergency but to operate from their own QTH and pass the emergency related communication to Mumbai Police/State Police Officials/Other govt.officials.
 
Therefore, all HAM’s from Maharastra are requested to volunteer their kind support by confirming to this email directly to my personal ID vu2...@yahoo.com by furnishing the following details.
