Hello,

I would like to ask you if there is a particular reason to use discord length in the GetDiscordTek16 program to be the same as alphabet length? In my opinion, looking at SAX and HOTSAX, discord length should be an independent parameter, because it can easily happen that you want an alphabet of 3 or 4 and the discord length to be much bigger.

Thanks in advance, and feel free to correct me if I am mistaken with the understanding of the problem.

The real discord length in HOTSAX equals to the sliding window size, *always*. Its SAX representation length is equal to the PAA size, regardless of the alphabet size, which specifies the granularity of the approximation used.
