Hi,

I tried to install it from r-forge, but it did not work:

> install.packages("jmotif", repos="http://R-Forge.R-project.org")
Installing package(s) into ‘C:/Users/<user>/Documents/R/win-library/
2.15’
(as ‘lib’ is unspecified)
Warning message:
package ‘jmotif’ is not available (for R version 2.15.0)

Is there any other way to install it or is it a problem with my R or
Windows version?

Basically I am interested in SAX for R.

Thanks,
wr

Hi there:

I'm sorry, unfortunately there is no R package for JMotif yet. Your R and Windows are good, it's my fault that things do not work. The project with R-Forge was registered a week ago, and I will transfer my code into the stand-alone R package eventually, but right now I am a bit short in time.

Nevertheless, I could offer my old R code which implements a number of SAX related functions and available here: http://code.google.com/p/jmotif/source/browse/trunk/RCode/SAX/PAA_SAX.R, It assumes that your data (timeseries) are 1xN matrix. The same SVN folder has some code which may help you, for example this one: http://code.google.com/p/jmotif/source/browse/trunk/RCode/SAX/sax_test.R

Thank you for the interest for SAX implementation, it really motivates me to work on this project.
Don't hesitate to ask for help if something doesn't work.

Hello
Is jmotif available for R now? I do hope it is.

Thanks
