Adding Date.js to Project

So I have been looking into my date stuff in the calendar and realized
that I am re-inventing the wheel. I have found this project:
http://code.google.com/p/datejs/ and would like to know people
opinions about including it in the code base to handle anything date
related, like parsing JSON.

Building off of existing (and successful) projects can only make your
job easier and also allow people to integrate it with their own work
in simpler ways.
However, this project hasn't been updated since 2008-04-14. That makes
me skeptical of how useful it may be in the end...

I agree, I had thought of that.  But the fact that it has a more robust Date object and methods is defiantly a plus.  Considering I had a lot of prototyped date functions that were not my forte.  I do like that DateJs has a nice parser for getting proper dates and custom formatting.  This will prove useful in parsing un-controlled JSON structures.
