Today is Friday July 8, 2011.
The Twins beat the White Sox last night by a score of 6 to 2 at U. S. Cellular Field in Chicago.
For Minnesota: 6 runs, 13 hits, 0 errors.
For Chicago: 2 runs, 6 hits, 1 error.
The winning pitcher was Carl Pavano who is 6 and 6.
The losing pitcher was Philip Humber who is 8 and 5.
The game was played in 2 hours and 35 minutes in front of a crowd of 26,395.
Playing first base for the first time in the Major Leagues, Joe Mauer handled every play with ease as the Twins improved to 5-0 against the White Sox. Mauer and Ben Revere drove in two runs each to back Carl Pavano.
Tonight the Twins take on the White Sox at U. S. Cellular Field in Chicago at 7:10 pm.
Pitching for Minnesota Right handed Nick Blackburn who is 6 and 6.
