Today is Wednesday July 6, 2011.
The Twins beat the Rays last night by a score of 3 to 2 at Target Field in Minneapolis.
For Minnesota: 3 runs, 6 hits, 2 errors.
For Tampa Bay: 2 runs, 7 hits, 1 error.
The winning pitcher was Scott Baker who is 7 and 5.
The losing pitcher was James Shields who is 8 and 6.
Glenn Perkins picked up his 2nd save.
The game was played in 2 hours and 45 minutes in front of a crowd of 38,613.
Michael Cuddyer participated in plating all three Minnesota runs as the Twins took an early lead and held on against Tampa Bay. Scott Baker left early with a mild right elbow strain, but got the win, allowing only three hits and one unearned run.
Today the Twins take on the Rays at Target Field in Minneapolis at 12:10 pm.
Pitching for Minnesota Left handed Francisco Liriano who is 5 and 7.
Pitching for Tampa Bay Right handed Wade Davis who is 7 and 6.
