Cannot install plugins manager

Hi,

I have installed Jmeter in Ubuntu Desktop using sudo apt-get install jmeter. It installed version 2.8.2.

I want to install plugins manager, so I downloaded the JAR file (v 0.12) and copied it to /usr/share/jmeter/lib/ext/

Even after reboot, I cannot see the Plugins Manager option in Options tab of Jmeter application. Is the path where I copied the JAR file correct?

I don't know the default directory structure when Jmeter is installed using apt-get. 

Please help.

Hi,

JMeter from ubuntu repos is extremely old. Current versions are 3.x. Just uninstall it with "sudo apt-get remove jmeter", then download and unzip JMeter from official site.

I have installed Jmeter v3.2 and can see the Plugins Manager in the Options tab. Still, the dialog box is empty and I cannot see any Available Plugins. Looks like this is a solution to the problem, but I am not behind any proxy. Jmeter is installed on a VM on top of KVM and is using the bridged interface. Any suggestions??

I am facing same issue with  Plugins Manager in the Options tab. The error message is shown that Failed to download plugins repository.
