I'm having problems recording a web application over a VPN, do I need a special JMeter configuration to do that?

JMeter supports recording through a VPN?

Hi,

Use below command on command promt to resolve your issue.

jmeter.bat -H <your proxy address> -P <your proxy port number> -u <your vpn user name> -a <your vpn password>

example:
jmeter.bat -H 10.100.101.3 -P 8080 -u abera -a Password2

Hi,

I have used the command but I am getting a error message as " jmeter.bat is not  recognized as internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Theoretically no, given correct JMeter and browser configuration underlying network type (real or virtual) should not make any difference.

See the following guides on how to setup JMeter for recording:

Also be aware of the alternative way of recording a JMeter test, it doesn't require setting up any proxies or installing SSL certificates, you can just record your test as you go using JMeter Chrome Extension
