Table filtering class type

Hi,

I have implemented the filter using criteria hibernate. I have a column property of type Date, but

when I try to filter the column, criteria throws an exception stating that it cannot convert a String to Date.

There is a way to get the Class type from Limit object ?

If there is no way, can you give me some tips to accomplish this?
