Focus lost after selecting an association

After selecting an associated object (by pressing <ENTER> in the drop
down), the focus is lost. We have to take recourse to the mouse for
moving to the next field. Pressing TAB (several times also) does not
produce any result.

Can anyone give me pointers on where to look?


PS:
My application is primarily data capture application, and speed of
data-entry is critical. Since ComboBoxes for associations (via
@EditWithCombo annotation) has major problem (please see my post a few
days back: you cannot select an item that has been selected for
another object), I thought I would use the default editor/view for
Association. The latter is attractive since QuerySpecification allows
one to implement cascading choices. But unfortunately, the focus is
getting lost after selecting an entry.
