using xstream 1.4.7 is it safe?

Hi, i'm using websphere 8.5.5 and i've met this xstream bug --> https://github.com/x-stream/xstream/issues/7.

So i have forced xstream 1.4.7 and the exception is disappeared.

So the question is:

is it safe to replace xstream with its previous version?
