I've got an enticing assortment of events to offer this fall! Here's the scoop.

Rise Again Community Sing-Along • Sept. 21, Oct. 26, Nov. 30; 7-8:30 p.m. • Join song leader Jeanne Mackey for a community sing-along from the recently released Rise Again Songbook, a guide with lyrics to over 100 songs, from Beatles to ballads, Dylan to Broadway. Playing for Change Day. Saturday, Sept. 24, Noon to 10 p.m. PFC Day connects people through music to fund music education for those in need, both globally and locally. Along with other local musicians and music students, I'll be performing with 4/5s of Harmony Bones (Laz is outa town); not sure yet what time. Proceeds benefit Ann Arbor Public School's C.O.M.P. Harmony Bones concert.
Saturday, October 8, 8 pm. Share an evening with Harmony Bones, a quintet of long-time veterans of the Ann Arbor folk music scene: Jeanne Mackey, Tom Voiles and Linda Teaman (of Nutshell), Laz Slomovits (of Gemini), and Eric Fithian. The band offers a wide range of traditional, contemporary and original folk songs, with rich vocal harmonies and an array of folk instruments—guitar, flute, pennywhistle, fiddle, bass, banjo, percussion, even sitar! At Canterbury House, 721 East Huron Street,Ann Arbor,48104. $10 for general admission and $5 for students/seniors.

When Death Comes Callin': Songs & Reflections about Death
. Wednesday, 10/26, Noon-1 pm. Charlotte DeVries and Jeanne Mackey join natural death care educator Merilynne Rush for a program of songs and readings reflecting various perspectives on death--humorous, sad, thoughtful, and quirky.  With Brian Buckner (keyboard) and Eric Fithian (bass). All Souls/Day of the Dead Gathering. Sunday, 10/30, 6-8:30 pm. An interfaith gathering to remember and honor those who have passed on—through music, a meal, and ceremony. Vegetarian stew and tea provided. Bring photos and mementos of loved ones and a dish to pass, if you like.  All are welcome.
