to Jeanne Mackey's Upcoming Events--

Greetings,

Honoring the turning of the seasons is part of what keeps me going these days. This is a time when we descend into the fertile darkness and the veil between the worlds grows thin. You’re invited to join Diana Cramer and me for this annual gathering of remembrance and honoring.

Sunday, October 28, 6-8:30 pm. All Souls/Day of the Dead Interfaith Gathering  to remember and honor those who have passed--through music, a meal, and ceremony. Vegetarian stew and tea provided.  Bring photos, mementos of loved ones, and a dish to pass if you like. All are welcome. $5 donation. At the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation, 3257 Lohr Road, Ann Arbor (across the street from Kohl's). RSVP requested: jmac...@gmail.com or 734 546 0243.

Ann Arbor Co-Counseling

I've been doing weekly peer co-counseling sessions for a few years now. Ah, the benefits of discharging strong emotion in a safe environment! My Ann Arbor Co-counseling friends are offering monthly sessions on specific topics.  Once you have completed an initial training ($60 but no one is turned away), these are all free of charge. Second Saturday Co-counseling Classes

We will be offering 4-hour co-counseling mini classes Saturday afternoons, (1 pm to 5 pm) on the second Saturday of the month AS LONG AS THERE IS ENOUGH INTEREST!

People who are new to co-counseling can come to these classes after they have attended a  3-hour intro. Intros can be for groups, or offered on a one-to-one basis. (Contact 734-604-6678 or a2cocou...@gmail.com)

Our next Second Saturday Co-Counseling Class is scheduled for Saturday October 13th from 1 pm to 5 pm. Please let us know by the 7th if you plan to join us on the 13th. Contact 734-604-6678 or a2cocou...@gmail.com)

This class will focus on Validations. Validations area powerful co-counseling tool: They are positive statements about a person, often short, that can be used in co-counseling by the client or the counselor.

We now have a tentative schedule for the next 11 months. Each class will cover a different fundamental element of co-counseling.

Quotes of the day:

"We are volcanoes. When we women offer our experience as our truth, as human truth, all the maps change. There are new mountains."  --Ursula K. LeGuin

"Life is a shipwreck, but we must not forget to sing in the lifeboats."  --Voltaire

"I'm f*cking full of whimsy."  --Matt LeBlanc
