Greetings,

As the days get shorter and the veil between the worlds grows thin, let's gather in community & song and honor those who have gone before us!

Harmony Bones concert.
This Saturday, October 8, 8 pm. Share an evening with Harmony Bones, a quintet of long-time veterans of the Ann Arbor folk music scene: Jeanne Mackey, Tom Voiles and Linda Teaman (of Nutshell), Laz Slomovits (of Gemini), and Eric Fithian. The band offers a wide range of traditional, contemporary and original folk songs, with rich vocal harmonies and an array of folk instruments—guitar, flute, pennywhistle, fiddle, bass, banjo, percussion, even sitar! At Canterbury House, 721 East Huron Street,Ann Arbor,48104. $10 for general admission and $5 for students/seniors. PARKING: Allow time to locate free street parking or Thayer St. Parking Structure, 300 S. Thayer, one block away.

When Death Comes Callin': Songs & Reflections about Death
. Wednesday, 10/26, Noon-1 pm. Charlotte DeVries and Jeanne Mackey join natural death care educator Merilynne Rush for a program of songs and brief readings reflecting various perspectives on death--humorous, sad, thoughtful, and quirky.  With Brian Buckner (keyboard) and Eric Fithian (bass). Rise Again Community Sing-AlongOct. 26 & Nov. 30; 7-8:30 p.m. • Join song leader Jeanne Mackey for a community sing-along from the recently released Rise Again Songbook, a guide with lyrics to over 100 songs, from Beatles to ballads, Dylan to Broadway. All Souls/Day of the Dead Gathering. Sunday, 10/30, 6-8:30 pm. An interfaith gathering to remember and honor those who have passed on—through music, a meal, and ceremony. Vegetarian stew and tea provided. Bring photos and mementos of loved ones and a dish to pass, if you like.  All are welcome.
