Friday, November 22, 8:00pm: Harmony Bones EP Release House Concert
Join Harmony Bones as we celebrate the release of "A Breath Wide." This
EP features three songs written by members of Harmony Bones, using Hosain Mosavat’s poems
as lyrics and inspiration. Hosain’s wife Judy Mosavat will perform a
few of her own poems. Harmony Bones is a sextet of Ann Arbor folk music
veterans: Jeanne Mackey, Laz Slomovits (of Gemini), Tom Voiles, Linda
Teaman and John Lloyd (of Nutshell), and Eric Fithian.
Hosain Mosavat (1936-2018) was a poet, photographer, drummer,
music-maker, woodturner, teacher, cook, jokester, and lover of life.
Born in Shiraz, Iran, Hosain was a generous, welcoming man who seemed
“larger than life”. With his beloved wife Judy, he hosted many local
community gatherings and creative collaborations. As Linda Teaman notes,
“being Hosain’s friend meant you became part of his family.”
Admission is $10, EPs (CD format) are $10 each, but you can get both
admission and an EP for $15! What a deal! It's a house concert on the west side of Ann Arbor. Seating is limited, so please register in advance online. Here's the concert poster
