to Jeanne Mackey's Upcoming Events--
Greetings,

I was pleased to be invited by the Ann Arbor Reskilling team to present an intro to Joanna Macy's despair & empowerment work on 12/8. My friend Edi Estey will also give a brief intro co-counseling, which has become an essential aspect of self-care for me, especially over the last year! Discharging strong emotion, making room for beauty and spaciousness in the midst of the chaos--ahhhh!  Note: To learn more about the Ann Arbor co-counseling community, see our Facebook page.

I've also been working with Allies for Change in Lansing to schedule their 3-part training for white people challenging racism. It's happening! Please help spread the word.

See below for details.

Blessings,
Jeanne

1979 Mckinley, Ypsilanti, MI 48197

Facebook event page

Offered by  Ann Arbor Reskilling

5:30 pm - potluck. Bring a dish to pass and recipe for our community recipe book.

6:30 - The Work That Reconnects - An intro to co-counseling and the practices of Joanna Macy.

How can we find the resilience and courage to face the challenges of these times? In this interactive session, we will practice ways of releasing fear and anger and reconnecting to what sustains us. The first hour is an introduction to co-counseling--a peer process for two or more people to heal past and present hurts, celebrate growth, and make intentional change. The second hour is  a brief introduction to eco-philosopher Joanna Macy and her “work that reconnects.” In simple paired conversations, we will share what is in our hearts about the state of our world.

Facilitators:
Jeanne Mackey, MSW, is a lifelong musician, community-builder, and change-maker. She was on the organizing team of the first Reskilling Festival in 2009.
Edi Estey is an Herbalist, educator, avid Co-counselor, nature enthusiast, and on the Ann Arbor Reskilling organizing team.

This is a family-friendly event -- kids'  activity during workshop.
