Hi Ladies,

Thanks Sarah and Francesca for organizing such a great event. Look forward to seeing you all at the next event in February.

A few people have asked about placement fair and also about our PRRC Date. Please take a moment to review the following info about Placement Fair, Training Day, and how points relate.

LMK if you have any questions.

Email Forward #1  RE PRRC shift and Training day being on the same day.

Hi Danielle,

In order to accommodate all the provisionals for PRRC shifts, we ran into a scheduling conflict with Training Day which traditionally takes place Saturday. (And the president-elect was available to speak on that date.) Training Day is from 8:30AM (hospitality), 9AM (meeting) to 12:30.  But we should be wrapped up by noon. Since the PRRC shift is from 11AM-3PM, there is overlap.

But your provisionals have the following options:

1. Keep their PRRC date and make up the Training Day with another 3 flex point activity (DIAD, VTD, General meeting etc.) and schedule a call with you.  (I emailed around the Placement brochure to our google groups for advisors to pass along to their SGs for reference.) AND attend the Placement Fair on March 26th, 6PM.  Provisionals will be able to go around the various booths and ask questions--pretty much exact same information as Training Day.

2. Or if they would prefer to attend Training Day instead of PRRC, they can sign up for another available date via digital cheetah.  (But they will need to notify us of the cancellation.) I took a look and there are shifts still available on: Feb. 1stMay 3rd and 10th.  The Feb. 15 was cancelled by the center.

My strong recommendation would be to keep the PRRC March 8th date and attend the Placement Fair on March 26th.  (The Placement fair and Training Day is essentially the same.) I'm looking into potentially getting your provisionals who signed up for March 8th, 3 points if they attend Placement as a make up.  Normally placement fair is 2 points from the placement committee.  Please don't mention the 3 points as a possibility to your provisionals until I get confirmation, since it may not happen.

Please let me know your thoughts and if your provisionals have any other questions!

Thanks :)

Email forward #2 - Placement Fair and Placement Fair subbing for other things.
  • The Placement Fair takes place on March 26th at 6PM.  (Location: The Republic at 3213 Scott Street.)
  •  The Placement Fair counts as a non-voting General Meeting for both actives and provisionals, and those who attend will receive 2 points.
  • Passports: Although not required, for those Provisionals who attend and also complete a Passport, they will receive an additional point.  For a potential total of 3 points: two points for attending and 1 extra point for completing the Passport.  The Passport will be given to provisionals upon check-in and consists of a one page document that must be stamped by every chair at each committee booth.  To receive credit, the completed Passport must then be turned in at the check-in table upon departure.

I will be volunteering at the check-in table with General Meetings, to distribute and collect the passports from Provisionals.

As a reminder, Training Day is our Third Large Group meeting and attendance is required (3 points).  However, for those provisionals who have expressed concern for missing Training Day, please encourage them to attend the Placement Fair.  Not only will they receive valuable information that will help them make an informed placement decision, but they will also be awarded up to 3 points.

Thank you and please let me know if you have any questions!
