Querying Date Month

Could be a really dumb question but how can I make a expression like want filter column dateEntered where month = 10

like in MSSQL would be : SELECT dateEntered from accounts where Month(dateEntered) = 10

[Jinq]

Jinq relies on JPA/JPQL for its queries, but I don't think that JPA has a way to get the month of a date, so Jinq is not capable of it.
