Dear all,

In the absence of stock register for Joom Super Shop, I explained my ideas of how to maintain an offline register to Sujan yesterday during my visit to the shop. He quite liked the idea and said thatvit is possible for him to maintain the stock register of JSS in the format I explained. He agreed to start it from 31 July. In fact I explained this same idea to Subrata da two weeks ago on the phone.

Sujan will just need to update the stock register once in a month and will verify the record by physicaal count of products  to check variations and anomalies.  He thinks that it will be really useful for self  monitoring and verification of stoc position. I also told him that this manual register can continue until we are able to install a computerised POS software that is actively being considered by us currently.

I asked him about customer' feedback on our product price. He said that as the location is not in a commercial hub, people do not stop by it. The only customers are the ones who are in emergency need of something. And many of them seem to raise concerns about high price tags.

I think this is very valuable information for us for rethinking our business strategy on how to get most of the customer base in the town. As the location is not in a hub, we need to think of
Ideas how to attract customers. One way culd be by reducing price upto a point slightly lower than the market price. For example the umbtella price in JSS is tk 690, but it is sold at tk 620 to 650 in the market.

Regarding Bata, a suggestion came from the Chittagong Bata team during their last visit. They suggested to explore space  on the ground floor if possible. Sujan said that with a  little renovation of JSS room, we might be able to use it for Bata. The JSS store can be shifted to a nearby room which is likely to be available soon. Then we can get rid of the 1st floor, saving quite big rental cost! Both the shops will then be located side by side.

Anyway, these are some of my immediate ideas came from visiting the shops and discussion with Sujan.

Happy to discuss further in a next meeting with all.

Regards
Kanchan

Hi Kanchan,

Thanks for emphasizing our ideas to be implemented in the workplace. I would encourage all members to visit and conduct audit JSS and Bata when they will be in Khagrachari.

If space is available in the ground floor, I would agree to shift Bata there.

Best regards
Subrata
