Honor February Deals Announced

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced flags on State buildings will be flown at half-staff on February 16 and 17, from sunrise to sunset, in honor of fallen New York State Police Trooper Steven A. Tyrrell.
On February 7, 2024, Trooper Tyrrell passed away from an illness stemming from his assignment in and around the World Trade Center site following the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. He had retired from the New York State Police after 26 years of dedicated service on September 27, 2023. Trooper Tyrrell was from Rochester, NY and is survived by three children; Sean, Kathryn and Rachel; and siblings Barry, Greg, Leslie and Sharon.
Oakland University Athletics has announced the Hollie L. Lepley Hall of Honor class of 2024, cementing more Oakland greats into the history of the university. The inductees feature five former student-athletes and one team.
This year's class includes former Volleyball star Samantha Condon, Men's Swimming and Diving sensation Hilton Woods, Men's Soccer standout Andy Wagstaff, Softball slugger Julie Owen, Baseball and Men's Basketball phenom Matt McClellan, and the legendary 1994 Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving team.
"Congratulations to this year's inductees into the Hollie L. Lepley Hall of Honor," said Steve Waterfield, Oakland University's athletic director. "The Class of 2024 represents Pioneers and Golden Grizzlies who achieved remarkable accomplishments and championship success during their time at OU and whose legacies are firmly entrenched in the OU Athletics record book".
The inductees will be honored at halftime during the Men's basketball game on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 1 p.m. against Cleveland State. This year's induction ceremony will be held at 6:30 p.m. after the game that same night at the Royal Park Hotel in Rochester.

Florida's SEC champion men's swimming & diving program placed 20 on the list. SEC women's swimming & diving runner-up Florida had 22 earning the honor. All ten eligible for the honor from the 2021 SEC champion Gator gymnastics team earned SEC Academic Honor Roll accolades. Six from men's basketball and four from the women's team earned spots on the Academic Honor Roll.
Junior Leah Clapper was recognized at the league championship meet last month as the SEC Gymnast Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She owns a 3.967 grade point average as she is dual enrolled in graduate classes. Clapper receives her bachelor's degree in Advertising this summer and then plans to continue her studies to earn her Professional Master's in the College of Journalism and Communications.
The Mavericks had a successful February, going 8-3, and Luka capped the month with a 30-point triple-double at Toronto, the first time any NBA player has had a triple-double of 30 points or more on his birthday.
The NBA announced today that Mavericks guard Luka Dončić was named the Kia NBA Western Conference Player of the Month for games played in February, marking the fourth time in his career he has received the honor (November 2019, February 2022, December 2022). Hall of Famer Dirk Nowitzki (6) is the only Maverick to win the award more times.

MIAMI, Feb. 8, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- Carnival Cruise Line announced today that global music superstar Gwen Stefani will be honored as the godmother of Carnival's new flagship, Carnival Jubilee, at a naming ceremony and celebration in Galveston, Texas on Saturday, Feb. 24.

Across Heathmoor, poor warriors left displaced by constant warring received invitations from members of the Wu Lin elite. The rich hosts were holding a Ghost Festival, a celebration to honor and entertain the spirits of their ancestors, and all warriors were summoned to the festivities.
But there were rules. Stay indoors at night. Fight not near water. And most importantly of all -- never eat the offerings for the dead. Such rules had long been a ward against wrathful spirits. Sadly, the delicious offerings proved much too alluring for the hungry warriors. A few guests indulged themselves, and soon, many more followed.
Exploiting the injustice sweeping Heathmoor, the Order of Horkos attacked Valkenheim. They soon laid siege to the village of Moldar. The small Viking town had no hope against the might of the enemy host, and so the Horkos gave them one choice: submit or die.
The leaders of Moldar came to blows over the decision. The village chieftain refused to break their oath to the Chimera Alliance, while his brother, the Highlander Maddox, argued they must join the enemy to survive. When the dread hour came, Maddox stabbed his leader in the back to ally with the Horkos.
Something has awakened in the Myre. For centuries, a cavern at the heart of the swamps was sealed off until a fissure split open.
