Hi
I have firebug 1.3 and jiffy add-on extension does not show up
anything at Firefox.
Do we know when is the next release supporting firebug 1.3?
Thanks
Anand

Thanks for pointing this out. I have been out of pocket (sick & now traveling) for the last 2 weeks so out of touch. I will try to carve out some time this weekend to resolve the problems.

Thanks

Hello Scott,

I am using Firebug 1.3.0 and jiffy still dosent seem to be working
with it. Is the problem resolved?
Or do I need to go back to older versions of firefox.

Thanks,
Jyotsna

It is on my plate to look into this. I apologize for the delay. But I have been swamped with a lot of external & normal work committments with literally no time to even dig into this.

Thanks for bringing it back to my attention. I will post here as soon as I have it resolved.

Ok, just getting a chance to look into this.

I just ran a clean build of Firefox 3.0.7 (latest version) with Firebug 1.3.3 (latest version) & Jiffy 1.0.20080619. Everything seems to work fine when I go to my test page (http://billwscott.com/jiffyext/testJiffyExt.html). Jiffy displays the results and I tested clicking on the carousel arrows (in the test page) and did a Refresh and the results displayed. Also tested the "Print" feature in Jiffy and it worked for me.

Can you verify that you are using the same versions?
  • Firefox 3.0.7
  • Firebug 1.3.3
  • Jiffy 1.0.20080619
Also are you using a Mac or Windows (XP or Vista)?

I tested this on a Mac (once I get back to my desk in an hour or so I will test it on Windows Vista.

Thanks

Hi, I have
- Firefox 3.0.4
- Firebug 1.3.3
- Jiffy 1.0.20080619

I tested Jiffy on a few pages and it is working only on
http://billwscott.com/jiffyext/testJiffyExt.html.

The pages you are trying -- do they have jiffy code inserted on them? The jiffy extension only works on pages that have Jiffy measurement code in place. It does not work on "any" page on the web. Unlike yslow, etc. the extension was built for the Jiffy measurement framework.

If the pages you are referring to do have jiffy measurement code enabled on them and the extension is not working then please send me the URLs to those pages where it is not working.

If the pages you are referring to don't have jiffy measurement code enabled then this is not a bug but simply the way the extension works. Please see the billwscott.com/jiffyext/ for documentation on how to get the measurement code enabled.
