A new film and discussion series on contemporary issues in Israel and Palestine
ICCI is pleased to announce a new film and discussion series on contemporary issues in Israel and Palestine with Amy Kronish*. This series of 4 programs in English offers a look at the controversial issues and trends in contemporary filmmaking, using both Palestinian and Jewish voices. Each of the following programs includes inter-active discussion and the screening of film clips:
¨ Session 1: Understanding Each Other -- Palestinian and Jewish Perspectives (February 22nd)
¨ Session 2: Images of Women in Israeli and Palestinian Film (March 21st)
¨ Session 3: Understanding the Shoah (April 18th, Erev Yom HaShoa)
¨ Session 4: Understanding the Nakbah and Issues of Documentary Filmmaking (May 2nd)
* Amy Kronish lectures and writes widely on film and is the author of two books on Israeli film. She blogs at www.israelfilm.blogspot.com.
Meetings will take place at ICCI's Educational Center, at 43A Emek Refaim St. (2nd fl.), Jerusalem, between 18:30 – 20:00.
The price for the entire series is 120NIS (100 for senior citizens, 80 for students). The price for a single program is 40NIS (no discount, subject to available space).
