"Don Jíbaro...I hate to say this
being I'm of PR descent, but since I've visited PR since the 1970's most
of the residents don't want to work. The consensus and mentality is that
the USA was ideated (sic) to them. My parents left PR because of the
poverty in the 1920's. They did well in NYC and California and returned to
PR twice to live. The crimes, harassment, fueled by illegal drugs forced
them back to the US. Now the poverty has caught up to the PR living in the
island. You cannot blame the local PR or US government for laziness it's a
product of their own choosing. The one's working in PR are predomintly
Dominicans or of Dominican decent. Same is true of the Mexican in CA, the
Mexicans take the jobs US citizens think it's beyond them to fill; now we
are seeing the results."
