بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيم

Assalamu-Alaikum,

On behalf of the Johns Hopkins University Muslim Association (JHUMA), we hope you, your family, and your loved ones are doing well.

JHUMA is a student-led organization striving to create a safe community for Muslims while educating the greater Johns Hopkins and Baltimore communities about Islam through awareness and interfaith events. However, in the past year, our financial support from university-allocated funds has been severely limited. The situation has worsened, and we currently do not have a sufficient prayer space, a Muslim chaplain to support students, or enough funding to put on general MSA programming including Ramadan Iftars. As such, we have launched a funding campaign to support different facets of our organization. In the attached funding proposal, you will find our organization's mission statement, a detailed statement of need and itemized budget, and ways to support us including non-monetary means.

We hope you will take the time to go through our proposal and consider donating to our cause that we value so deeply; please also consider forwarding this to others who may be willing to donate as well. If you have any questions or concerns regarding our campaign, please feel free to email jh...@jhu.edu or our outreach chair Eyad Ali at ea...@jhu.edu

Thank you so much for sharing this, Bilal.

It's heartbreaking that the current students are in this position. Happy to help preserve the MSA students and their activities.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيم
Alsalamualaikum,

We would like to thank everyone who has already donated to our cause, we greatly appreciate your generosity and support. We just wanted to provide an additional means of donation that allows your gift to be tax deductible--through the Hopkins Donation Site. This additional means also provides a way of setting up a recurring charge for a specified period of time.

If you would like to donate through this method please visit the attached link: https://secure.jhu.edu/form/givenow
Payments in the amount specified above will be automatically charged to your account as scheduled until you notify Office of Annual Giving by phone at 800-548-5422 or email o...@jhu.edu.
Once you have selected your donation amount, please scroll to the bottom of the designation list to "Other - please specify", and type in "Johns Hopkins University Muslim Association". This will ensure that your donation reaches our student group funds. If you have already donated and would like to re-donate through this means to ensure your support is tax-deductible, please let us know.

If you are unable to donate, no worries! Please consider joining our JHUMA professional network where we aim to provide different forms of opportunities and mentorship to our undergraduate Muslim students at this link: https://forms.gle/3sRvP1U5gT6M68cS8
Alsalamualaikum! Thank you for your willingness to join our JHUMA Professional Network. We hope by having you as a point of contact, that our members will have a mentor and a source of guidance and support as they navigate their professional pursuits. If you have any questions, specific requests or opportunities for our undergraduate students (in any field) please email jh...@jhu.edu and we will get back to you as soon as possible. JazakAllahu Khair

We would like to thank everyone again for your generosity. We will be sure to update as purchases for equipment are made and when events are held, and insha'Allah, when we have a new Muslim Chaplain.

JazakumAllah Khair,
