Assalam Alaikum JHUMA alumni,
This past weekend a number of jhuma alumni got together in Dallas. At this meeting, one project we decided to embark on is that we will try to sponsor one sadaqa jariya (continuous charity) project every year. Therefore, say 30-40 years from now, we have accomplished 30-40 eternally rewarding and charitable projects throughout the world. That way our jhuma bond will be that much more impactful and we will that much closer and strongly bonded on the day of judgment as well iA. Let’s make our relationship with one another that much stronger iA. This year, we decided to come together and sponsor a water well through the zakat foundation. The cost of a well is $3000. Alhamdulillah the ten families present at the jhuma reunion actually raised $3400 total to cover this project already. However, we wanted to still go ahead and open this project up to all jhuma alumni iA. If we raise enough to do 2 wells, then we will do that. Otherwise, (if it falls short of a second well) we will plan for it to go to alternative projects such as supporting orphans. If anyone wants to contribute, feel free to reach out back to me. I would encourage you to contribute something even if it’s only $100 so that you can still benefit and partake in it inshallah.
