My friend Chavi is looking for some help with frontend dev for her amazing Baltimore-based organization. More about BYKE Collective and what they're looking for below. If you're into this, reach out to
! There's a Google Doc linked with more info about their organization as well.
About BYKE:
The Baltimore Youth Kinetic Energy Collective (BYKE) is a youth bicycle workshop designed to develop personal and professional skills in young people through learning mechanics, practicing safe ridership and building community. With a focus on restorative justice and violence prevention, BYKE provides a safe and productive environment for youth from low-income neighborhoods all over Baltimore. We are looking for a software that would track activity in the shop: who is there, which bikes are being worked on, who is helping out, what projects are completed, what skills are being achieved, etc. We want each youth and each bicycle to have a profile that shows progress. The most important component is that it should be youth-user friendly.
The data would be helpful for grant reporting, but also in-house information (if a young person is bringing in a different bike every week, etc.).
We already have a back-end software person, and the start of a UI (balsamic .pdfs) but we need someone to make it work on the front end. Below is a google doc link that has details on how the software could work (let me know if you can’t access it) and I have .pdfs I can send along with the screens if you are interested.
We have non-profit (501[c]3)status through our fiscal sponsor, Fusion Partnerships, Inc.
Any support would be greatly appreciated!
