How Scams in Crypto Presales Work

Screenshot_4.png

There's a common trick used in the crypto world to cheat people who are looking for a good investment. It goes something like this:

Fancy Website: A new website pops up looking really professional, with cool animations and big promises. It's all designed to make you really want to invest.

Social Media Hype: They use Twitter, Telegram, and other platforms to create a lot of excitement. They make it feel like you're missing out if you don't join in.

Presale Platforms: These projects get listed on platforms that seem trustworthy but don't really check if the projects are good. These platforms just care about the fees they collect.

Fake Buzz: The people behind the scheme pretend there's a lot of buying and interest in their project, tricking more people into thinking it's a good investment.

The Scam: Just when the price seems high, the scammers sell off their own tokens, crashing the price, and then disappear, ready to start the scam all over again with a new project.

Why It Looks Legit

These scams can seem very believable because:

The websites look high-tech and professional.

They make big promises about what they're going to do, but it's all just talk.

They seem to have a lot of people excited about them online, but often those are just fake accounts.

Who Really Wins

In this game, the only people making money are:

The scammers, who disappear with the money they tricked people into giving them.

The platforms hosting the presales, because they get paid no matter what happens to the project.

It's Like Looking for Gold

Trying to find a valuable cryptocurrency in presales is like searching for real gold in a place full of fake gold. The chances of finding something worthwhile are very slim.

Should You Avoid Presales?

If you're not an expert who can thoroughly check out these opportunities, it's probably best to stay away from presales. The chance of running into a scam is just too high.

For those who still want to try, be prepared to lose whatever you put in. Even the best research can't always protect you from these sophisticated scams.

Looking Ahead

The fact that there are so many scams in crypto presales is a big problem for the industry. We need to find better ways to spot scams and protect investors, there are few upcoming crypto presales platforms which promises better safeguards.
