Hello Team,

I would like to propose Jan Wedding’s entry into the team.

He is a regular contributor for some time and he’s contributions are noteworthy https://github.com/jhipster/generator-jhipster/issues?q=author%3AOmarHawk.

"My name is Jan Wedding – some may know me from github as OmarHawk. I’d like to become JHipster core member.

In the past couple of years, I started involving in this open source project, as my client started using JHipster as the basis for a replacement of an old on-prem software, due to my recommendations. Back then, one argument was that jhipster is open source: I really do like the open source idea, as it gives maximum transparency and allows also involvement by everyone – if it is done right. And I do believe, here it is done properly.

My current involvement relates mostly to generator-jhipster and generator-jhipster-entity-audit, as these are the components we are using by ourselves. So naturally, I started supporting features and contributed bugfixes in these repositories that may not help only us, but also the rest of the community. And that’s also where I see myself contributing in the future, also keeping an eye on user requests and helping whereever my expertise and time allows to help.

Maybe also a few words about myself: I'm an IT Consultant / Software engineer with now 10 years of professional experience and with more than 30 projects during that time. Working in an IT consulting company called "PRODYNA", and while I am having “Manager” in my job title I'm also still in software projects and doing operative work, mostly in Fullstack software projects. I do have deep knowledge in the Java ecosystem, as well as a certain set of knowhow Angular+React, also covering Cloud topics with Azure, Opentofu, gitlab cicd but also minor gh actions experience, and a lot more. So quite a broad skillset, I would say. By the way, I also consider IT security as one of my favourite topics – since I am a really curious person, I do like to fiddle with that. 😉

This is also the time for me to realize that I don’t follow contributions enough in the project…

I totally trust Marcello on this, and also I had a look at your contributions: +1 and welcome!! I’m super happy to have someone new in the team, this didn’t happen since a long time and we just discussed this in our last team meeting.

Jan: as soon as the process is finished (and that should be easy), you’ll be able to join our Developers Association (I’ll send you the details), and you can also add JHipster (the “company”) on your LinkedIn profile (don’t hesitate to put a fancy title, the goal is to make your resume look good!).
