Dear customer,

As of today, your organization has access to a shared pool of AI credits, even if you haven't used JetBrains AI before. 400.80 credits are now available to all JHipster teams and developers with AI access.

If your organization already had AI subscriptions, those have been converted to credits directly.

How your credit balance is calculated

Credits are allocated per license type:

AI Ultimate 70 credits / month
AI Pro 20 credits / month
All Products Pack and dotUltimate 20 credits / month
AI Free (included with every active IDE license) 3 credits / month

Example: Imagine you have 100 All Products Pack licenses + 50 PyCharm licenses = 2,150 credits per month ((100 × 20) + (50 × 3)). If those 150 licenses all have 6 months remaining, you would receive 12,900 credits now, and then 2,150 credits per month on renewal.

What changes for your team

Previously, AI credits were allocated per user, and unused credits expired when the subscriptions were renewed. With a shared pool, credits go where they're actually needed, eliminating potential waste from uneven usage across your team.

Another added layer of flexibility is the expiry of these credits. Until now, AI and IDE licenses included an allowance for AI credits that were renewed on a monthly basis. This now changes to become aligned with the expiry of the license. For example, if you had an AI Pro license that expired on November 17, the converted AI credits will all be available immediately till November 31.

Your developers can use credits in the tool of their choosing: AI Assistant in JetBrains IDEs (with Claude Agent, Codex, and Junie), Air (our agentic development environment), Junie CLI, other IDE plugins, and terminal agents (Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode) via Central CLI.

Admin controls

You can see your credit pool in JetBrains Central Console. It offers several additional benefits for AI management:

  • Enable AI access for all users automatically – manual steps are no longer needed to assign licenses.
  • Set unified per-user credit limits, adjustable based on individual needs.
  • Enjoy simplified upkeep with a unified credit refresh date for all users in your organization.
  • Set automatic credit purchases based on a schedule.

Advanced features in the EAP

These governance features are also available for you to try in the Central Console (free during preview):

  • Centrally manage Bring Your Own Key access for AI providers.
  • Manage AI agents (including ACP agents) and control which are available to your users.
  • View usage analytics per LLM provider and models.
  • Access AI analytics via an API.
  • Administer MCP servers for different user groups.

Please note that to enable these EAP features, you should opt-in directly in the console

Identity provider integration with automatic license and AI access provisioning is also planned – we'll announce when it's available.
