THIS DAAN UTSAV,  SET UP AN ONLINE WISHTREE FOR FREE WITH MILAAP!

The concept of Wish tree is synonymous with Daan Utsav. We, the folks at Milaap, thought it would be great to create the SAME GIVING EXPERIENCE ONLINE and allow any NGO or a corporate to set up a virtual wish tree and reach donors around the world through social networks to fulfil them at a click of a button.

How it works?

1. All NGOs and Corporates can set one or more wishtrees. Here’s an example – milaap.org/wishtrees/baale-mane

2. Donors can browse through the wishes by clicking on the wish cards and fulfil them by donating online using netbanking, debit/credit card. All donations are processed using Milaap's payment gateway and will be transferred to respective NGOs at the end of the campaign (date to be decided by the NGO/Corporate)

3. There's no upfront fee for setting up wishtrees. Milaap takes a nominal fee of 7.5% (5% + 2.5% payment gateway fees) on the donations raised. Marketing and outreach to their supporters/donors will be done by NGOs/Corporates.

4. NGOs and Corporates can keep track of number of wishes fulfilled, amount raised and even thank donors on a real-time basis. Milaap will share the list of donors and their contact details. NGOs can get in touch with them separately regarding tax benefits, if available.

HOW CAN YOU PARTICIPATE?

Download the instructions and wishtree format from here Typical wishes range from Rs 250 to Rs 3000, with most of them in the range of Rs 600-2000. Place around 40-50 wishes.

Read the instructions. Fill the sheet, and email it to feed...@milaap.org . If you are sending pictures as attachments, please consider sending them as WINZIP / WINRAR folder

Curious to know why you say NGOs with or without 12A/ 80G. I would like to discuss this on our call. Would rather not mention it if it is open to all NGOs.

Would donors know that a particular NGO would not be able to issue 80G or not.

How does the wishtree get marketed? Would you be driving traffic or is it the sole responsibility of the NGO. Very important to set expectations right.

Has this been done before?

incl details start date and end date

Who is eligible to set up the Wishtree

What NGOs need to do

How many wishes, size of wishes

Who is Milaap and what Milaap will do

How will the wishes get fulfilled (marketing)

When will the funds get credited

If this has been done before, some data about funds raised, a quote from 1-2 NGOs who have done this before.
