jgroups 2.6.2 - parsing messages

Hi there,
We use an application that uses jgroups 2.6.2 and understanding it is very old, is there a way to parse messages using this version?  I have tried using other jgroups parse messages but seems to not work across versions.

You'll need to write your own parsing code; I suggest start at TP.receive() and then copy code starting at that path into a method. That should be simple, but it will of course only parse messages from 2.6.x.

Yes, 2.6.x is very ancient, but it shouldn't be hard to upgrade to 4.x or 5.x...

Hi Bela,
I appreciate the reply!  Unfortunately like a few on this dev group I am just an Infrastructure Engineer trying to get to the bottom of a problem of an external supplier owned piece of software that is using version 2.6.2.  If they were to upgrade it I am sure my life would be easier as well.  
We have made some network changes which to looked to resolve our initial problem around multicasting so for now we are good.
