Spam and moderation

Hi folks

unfortunately, there's a lot of spam here recently,so I'm forced to change this mailing list to be moderated; every post has to be approved from now on.
I'll also ban spammers. Let's see if this reduces the onslaught of spam...

Thanks Bela, I was going to suggest we do that.

Though, I am wondering why this issue is not wide-spread on other
mailing lists. Are there perhaps some spam settings that we have not
set and could have set?
