Running jGnash 3.2.0 with Zulu 11 on Windows 10.  I started having a problem today where the first couple of entries went fine, but on the the third or fourth entry the program would hang.  Task Manager showed Zulu was churning.  I killed it a couple of times, and thought it might have been having problems trying to write a crash file.  Didn't see any indications of that, but did see that Google Backup & Sync (GBS) was changing it task list at the same time.  I had GBS syncing the folder where the jGnash database (I use the .mv.db format) and backup zips are stored.  Realized GBS was trying to copy the database at the same time jGnash was trying to update it and they were messing each other up.

I solved the problem by creating an Archive folder within the jGnash folder and removing the synch from the main folder and adding the synch to just the Archive folder.  jGnash worked fine after that, and copying the database and zip folders into the Archive folder gives me a cloud copy in case my hard drive smokes.  Downside is I have to remember to copy the db into the Archive folder.

I'm posting this mainly to document the problem in case others run into it -- I had gone with this configuration for over a year with no problem -- it's probably some kind of weird timing glitch.  I doubt its worth the time trying to figure out how to better atomize the transactions loop so that GBS can't mess it up.

Thanks Jay!

I noticed other strange behavior several weeks ago tied to GBS as well.  Long story, but I'm using Dropbox now without issue.  I've given up waiting on Google Drive to support Linux and the third party solutions have not been stable for me when my upload speed drops to dial-up performance.
