Hi

Just downloaded / installed 3.5.0 - can't get it to run.

no changes to platform:
- Windows 10 1903
- JDK 13.0.1

standard changes to start menu entry:
- target
- dir

no changes to environment vars:
- JAVA_HOME = D:\PROGRAMS - DEV - LANG - JAVA\JDK - 13.0.1
- PATH includes D:\PROGRAMS - DEV - LANG - JAVA\JDK - 13.0.1\bin

other:
- tried starting from win explorer run as admin
- 3.4.0 still works fine

Any ideas what might be causing this?

Thx!

Could you run from a console.. looking for error messages.

Also try using just the old jGnash.exe file from 3.4.0 and replace it in the 3.5.0 directory please.

Thanks,
Craig

I have copied the  old jGnash.exe file from 3.4.0 to the 3.5.0 directory.

But it still not starting.

How can I run from console?

Craig,

This is really strange. In the following directories:

JGNASH – 3.5.0 (directory)

  • Can’t run from start menu
  • Can’t run jgnash.exe (3.5.0) from w/i win explorer
  • Run jgnash.exe (3.5.0) from CMD window, nothing happens, no error
  • Copy jgnash.exe (3.4.0) to this directory and then run from CMD window, nothing happens, no error

JGNASH – 3.4.0 (directory)

  • Run from start menu – works fine
  • Run jgnash.exe (3.4.0) from win explorer – works fine
  • Run jgnash.exe (3.4.0) from CMD window – works fine

Other

  • Run as admin
  • Reinstalled from download
  • Rebooted

Nothing works …:>(

Now I tried to start 3.5  and clicked  on Bootloader.bat in the bin directory and suddenly jgnash 3.5  booted.

Some icons are missing but I can work with it

OK, so it’s nothing specific to my machine…

  • The 3.5.0 exe is not throwing an error, even in the cmd window.
  • I double-checked env vars and nothing unusual there…

I’m baffled – this is the first time I’ve ever seen this …

Since 3.5 updates the database, I’m going to hold off – from Craig’s other comment, looks like this might be related to the java home env var check…so, hopefully, easy to fix.

Thanks all... working on it.

I'm not certain at this point.  I've confirmed the bootloader.bat works at the lose of icons which is bizarre and I suspect I mangled the .exe file on last commit/upload.

Thanks,
Craig
