Beta Version Compatibility

I recently found this emulator, and I find it very useful. My only problem is that while the new beta has great features, games like Pokemon Crystal freeze soon after starting. After getting used to the new version, it is hard to go back to the older one, and none of my saves for other games work, so would increased compatibility be possible?
