But the issue seems to be that this user does not seem to have the admin role. From the instructions it says its supposed to ask me to reset the password after the initial log in but that does not seem to happen. Also, i seem to be able to use that admin account with any random password.
Therefore once i log in with that it keeps telling to retrieve the password from the admin.password file and also i dont have the option to see the configuration, settings or create new repositories. The only thing i can see is browse and search.
I have cisco Nexus 7000 series switches with VPC configured. I have 3 VDC configured in each nexus switch and the password for 2 VDC in 1 switch and 3 VDC in another switch includes admin VDC password not working. I have to reset the password for both switches. Kindly advise how I can do it. Should I need to ask for downtime to the company?
And now it's possible you may find both accounts being banned -- multiple accounts and account sharing are not allowed. There is a procedure to follow, and opening new accounts, when you already have an active account, is not part of that procedure. Please be aware of this when you submit details to reset your password:
If it's not there, then the only solution I've found was to remove all the contents of the /nexus-data directory and restart the container. That should initialize a new config, including a new admin password, which should now be available at /nexus-data/admin.password.
In order to secure your account, you may want to update your password periodically. We highly recommend your Nexus Mod password is unique to our service and isn't a match for any other username and password combination you use.
While logged into your Nexus Mods account, you can find the option to change your password in the "Settings" section. This is found by clicking your avatar in the top-right of the webpage and selecting settings.
In the event you've forgotten your password, you can use the password reset form. This will send a verification email to allow you to reset your password. If your email address is no longer valid, we can only verify your account with an invoice from a Supporter or Premium membership purchase. Please contact sup...@nexusmods.com with this information to resolve the issue.
It happens to everyone: you set a lock screen password in a hurry and cannot remember it the next day. To unlock your device again, you need to reset the password (or PIN, pattern, etc). There are two official methods of doing this.
If you set a pattern to unlock your device, you are in luck. Try to unlock your Nexus device 5 times and a "Forgot Pattern" option will appear. After selecting that, you can enter your Google Account email and password to unlock your device and reset your pattern. If this method does not work for you, try the method below.
Open up Android Device Manager and sign in to your Google Account from another device. From here, click "Lock" next to the entry for your locked device. It will ask you to enter a password (a PIN will also work). After confirming this, hit "Lock" again (ignoring the optional text box).
If all else fails, you could restore to a backup (from recovery) or factory reset your device (again, from recovery, be it a custom one or the stock one. If you are using an unmodded, stock Nexus (and therefore using stock recovery), check out my guide on exploring stock recovery, where the factory reset option is detailed.
Resetting your lock screen password should be an easy job, and it often is...except of course for when it isn't. If all else fails, a full factory reset will work. However, understandably, this is not the most desirable option. The Android Device Manager method is definitely worth a shot, though, if you forget your lock screen password.

It seems that I have successfully censored my device by changing the censorship control word, as I am no longer able to connect during internal boot via the Nexus Port. I am using pemicro's ICDPPCNEXUS as my debugger with a MPC5566. Within the debugger there is an option to enter in the Censorship password on a reset. My question is, can i enter my password in here to uncensor the device and is there a specific way the password must be entered (i.e. password = FEEDFACECAFEBEEF must be entered as = CAFEBEEFFEEDFACE), or can i not use this method to uncensor my device. Each time i attempt to uncensor my device, I am prompted with "Debugger retrying force to background mode. Can not enter background mode."
password should be set as FEEDFACECAFEBEEF. Swapping is necessary only on MPC56xx devices that have C90LC flash (I'm not absolutely sure now, but if I can remember, pemicro swaps the password automatically).
I have set the censorship control word(at 0x00FFFDE0) to 0x33CC and the serial boot control word(at 0x00FFFDE2) to 0x55AA. Since I know the password in flash to be FEEDFACECAFEBEEF, can I attempt to uncensor the device using my PEMICRO to work on it, or must I use serial boot to run the code in the application note?
Please note that the automated password reset process applies to Oracle Financials LIVE only. Note: A factory reset will clear all network addresses and users from the system. Be sure to backup any data such as slides, overlays, and schedule files before executing these steps. Also, make a note of the IP address, subnet mask and gateway as these will be reset as well.
Follow the instructions below to perform a NEXUS/UltraNEXUS factory reset. Afterward, the admin password will be restored to the last six digits of the unit's serial number. The serial number can be found on a sticker on the back of the unit or on the front display (press the up arrow until it displays the serial number).
1. Power off the server by pressing the front panel left and right arrow buttons simultaneously.
2. Power on the server by pressing the front panel left and right arrow buttons simultaneously.
3. Immediately press and hold the up arrow for approximately 20 - 25 seconds until the factory reset menu appears.
4. At the factory reset menu, press the left arrow button to perform a Save Opts reset.
DO NOT EXECUTE A FULL MEMORY CLEAR!
5. Quickly follow the prompts to complete the reset.
6. If successful, the server will reboot.
After boot-up, the NEXUS/UltraNEXUS will have its network addresses cleared and the admin password restored to the last six digits of the serial number. You will need to put in the IP, subnet, and gateway addresses again using the front panel config menu.
First, Chromebook was initially rejected by Google management. In fact I wrote the first version as early as July 2006 and showed it around to management. Instead of launching a project, the response was extremely tepid. My boss complained, "You can't use it on an airplane." Actually, you could as, under the covers, it was still a bare-bones Linux distribution and could execute any Linux program installed on it.
Second, Google OS was not originally written for Chrome or called "Chrome OS". The first versions were all based on Firefox. When I wrote the first version in 2006, Google had not yet started developing a web browser of its own, nor did the name "Chrome" exist as a Google product. Chrome versions followed in 2007, after internal beta test versions of Chrome started to be passed around inside Google.
The problem, I'm beginning to think, is simply mismatch. The core services of Google's business are often not the Google services I rely on most. And even when their core products and my needs do meet, the business connection is indirect.
Together, the Gmail experience, the death of Google Reader, and the closure of Picnik all have me questioning whether I want to keep investing time and energy in "free" Google products or whether I need to start looking for paid services that are explicitly making money off the thing I am paying them to do.
Unlike iOS, every version of Android allows you to install replacements for a variety of UI elements. Some things, like menus, settings, and fonts, can't be changed easily, but you can get a very stock-like experience just by downloading a few apps available in Google Play right now. By replacing apps like the built-in launcher, lock screen, and keyboard, you can enjoy the cleaner, more beautiful "Nexus look" in just a few minutes.
Nokia doesn't have an obligation to make a FRAND promise with respect to VP8. It wasn't involved in VP8 standard-setting. VP8 was and in practical terms (even if not in formal terms) still is a single-company project (when Google says "open", it usually means "control"), and that's why no one can be forced to support it. By contrast, H.264 was an industry-wide initiative and everyone sitting at the standard-setting table agreed to FRAND licensing from the beginning.
