A general purpose toolbox developed originally for personality, psychometric theory and experimental psychology. Functions are primarily for multivariate analysis and scale construction using factor analysis, principal component analysis, cluster analysis and reliability analysis, although others provide basic descriptive statistics. Item Response Theory is done using factor analysis of tetrachoric and polychoric correlations. Functions for analyzing data at multiple levels include within and between group statistics, including correlations and factor analysis. Validation and cross validation of scales developed using basic machine learning algorithms are provided, as are functions for simulating and testing particular item and test structures. Several functions serve as a useful front end for structural equation modeling. Graphical displays of path diagrams, including mediation models, factor analysis and structural equation models are created using basic graphics. Some of the functions are written to support a book on psychometric theory as well as publications in personality research. For more information, see the web page.
I am trying to install psych package in RStudio . As I have seen in a previous topic about the same problem I have tried to install from R with administrative privilege, but I get the same error message:
The error reported is related to the installation of psych dependency, mnormt.
Particularly, it's a permission problem to write the CITATION file in a temporary directory.
This is strange and unusual, since you shouldn't have problems to write temporary files.
And this looks more strange to me because, if the error is really being caused by the writing of CITATION, well, this is a text file.
Some machines, particularly corporate machines, have restrictions on writing binary files.
This might not be the case.
I can only suggest you to see if you have enough space.
Descriptive statistics about the data helps us get a feel of the data and its distribution. We have describe() function in the psych package which can help us get the descriptive statistical measures of the dataset at hand.

Journal holdings in the Oskar Diethelm Library include long back runs of more than 360 psychiatric journals and others dealing with the history of medicine, psychiatry, and psychology. Among its most remarkable holdings, the Library possesses complete runs of several critical and uncommon journals.
This collection of resources covers the scientific study of mental processes and behavior in humans and other animals. Biology and behavior, clinical science, cognitive science, neuroscience, social psychology, counseling, educational and developmental psychology comprise the major fields of research in this area. The largest collection of printed psychology materials is located in the Wells Library Research Collections on the 4th floor, with additional materials on the 7th (social psychology) and 10th (psychiatry) floors. Psychology materials can also be found in the Business/SPEA Library, the Education Library, and the Sciences Library. This guide also shares information about electronic journals, databases, and videos to support teaching, learning, and research within Psychological & Brain Sciences at Indiana University.
where I provide assistance with any part of the research process and can connect you with campus resources. When I'm not helping students, I coordinate the library's instruction program and teach LIB 151.
Covers the research literature in all areas of psychology and related disciplines in the social and behavioral sciences, including applied psychology, communication systems, developmental psychology, educational psychology, experimental human and animal psychology, personality, physical and psychological disorders, physiological psychology and intervention, professional personnel and issues, psychometrics, social processes and issues, sports psychology and leisure, and treatment and prevention. The database provides indexing and abstracts for journal articles (mostly peer-reviewed), books, chapters, and dissertations.
Provides access to psychological tests, measures, scales, surveys, and other assessments as well as descriptive summaries of the test and its development and administration. These instruments are not commercially available. The key feature in this database is that the actual tests themselves are included for most, but not all, of the entries.
DSM-5 The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) is the standard classification of mental disorders used by mental health professionals in the United States. It is intended to be applicable in a wide array of contexts and used by clinicians and researchers of many different orientations (e.g., biological, psychodynamic, cognitive, behavioral, interpersonal, family/systems). The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5) is the current edition.
Welcome to the psychology subject guide. Here you will find information on resources available to assist you in your research. Below are some essential Psychology resources. This guide also includes information about Statistics, Tests and Measuremants, Surveys, and writing and citing sources in the APA Style.
For your assignment you need to write a literature review on a psychology topic of your choosing. You'll be discovering and exploring many sources to help you fully understand what psychology scholars and experts are saying about your topic in the published literature.
The Psychiatric Services Library provides resources and services for staff employed in WA public mental health services. Registered staff access resources outside of the major mental health sites using their usual network credentials.

Staff may also have access to the library website associated with their current WA Health Service via the WA Health Libraries Network (WAHLiN)
There are a number of resources available for psychological tests - please see the databases listed below.
The Deakin University School of Psychology has a test library, which can be used by qualified students and staff.
Provides access to international literature in psychology, the behavioral sciences, and related disciplines from professional journals, book chapters, books, reports, and dissertations. Most citations include abstracts. In addition, there are millions of cited references in journal articles, books, and chapters.
Provides citations and abstracts to journal articles in the professional and academic literature in psychology and related disciplines including medicine, psychiatry, nursing, sociology, social work, education, business, pharmacology, physiology, law, linguistics. Covers over 1,800 international professional journals, as well as books, book chapters, reports, conference proceedings, theses and dissertations. Nearly all records contain non-evaluative summaries. Produced by the American Psychological Association. Beginning in 2001, many citations include references, their abstracts, and links to cited references.
Provides access to the international journal literature of psychology and related fields, to dissertations, and to technical reports from approximately 50 countries. More than 2200 journals in 29 languages are indexed. This database includes material relevant to psychology from such related disciplines as education, medicine, business, sociology, linguistics, law, psychiatry and anthropology.
In many cases, the full text or PDF of the article will be directly available in the library database. If you do not see the full text, then look for the "MGet It" link. This will open a new window and run an automated search of the U-M Library resources in order to connect you to the full text.
Please keep in mind that you should not purchase proprietary psychological tests without checking with your professor or thesis/dissertation advisor to see if such a test is necessary. The web links below are for reference, not as a University Libraries service. The University Libraries cannot purchase tests for you from these sites.
