In Modern Hebrew, when you want to tell somebody to slow down or do something slowly, you say פרה פרה. Where did that expression come from?

השערה: parar הוא לעצור בספרדית ובלאדינו. יכול להיות שמכאן נובע הביטוי, היה צריך להיות במלעיל, אבל בגלל דמיונו למילה פרה העברית התקבלה הצורה הזאת.

תודה, אורה, על ההשערה המעניינת. צורת הציווי בספרדית הארגנטינית היא דווקא במלרע. הביטוי מקובל בצורתו הכפולה כמו בעברית, ומשמעותו 'חכה-חכה!', אבל אין לי מושג אם זה המקור.
