Dear colleagues,

I'm pleased to share information about our upcoming event series celebrating the launch of our new online exhibit, "A Millennium of Jewish Women's Voices."

The HUC-JIR Jewish Language Project proudly presents two fall events highlighting women’s literature, songs, prayers, and letters across the Jewish Diaspora. The archival materials span the 10th to the 21st centuries and are drawn from 15 languages, such as Judeo-Arabic, Judeo-Berber (Morocco), Judeo-Italian, Juhuri (Mountain Jews), Judeo-Malayalam (India), and Ladino. Featuring scholars, curators, and performers, the panels on Oct.30 and Nov.13 will honor the ways that Jewish women have contributed to textual and musical innovation. Join us virtually to see and hear some of these astonishing cultural treasures.

I have attached the series flyer to this email. Full details and registration for the events are available at https://www.jewishlanguages.org/events. Both events are free to attend and will take place over Zoom; please note Daylight Savings in the UK and Israel that will affect the start time on Oct.30.

Lastly, I am happy to share with you a sneak peek of the exhibit! You can view it here: http://jlp.jewish-cultures-mapped.org/#/project/59

Warm regards,
Hannah
